I came to the Lord in February of 2004. Early on in my walk with Him I had an interesting dream. In it I was in an office with my father (biological). He was telling me that he needed me to nail my hand to the table in the office! But instead of a nail I was to use ball-point pen! Then Jesus appeared and said He'd do it for me. He was very gentle - it didn't hurt at all.
If my (biological) father represented my heavenly Father then it would appear that the Lord literally has put a pen in my hand...
I don't claim to be Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel (or any sort of big-time old-testament prophet), but I do think that from time to time the Lord calls me to write things down. Whether they're dictation from Him, inspired by His Spirit or His written word, or simply hallucinations from my deranged mind, I'll let y'all judge.
But there is a common message in them - one of urgency (I think). He calls to us "Don't ignore me! Don't try to live your lives without me!"
Hopefully the following words may help comfort or strengthen someone, some place.

Nov 7, 2006 - I was visiting the Portland Rescue Mission with my pastor friend Ron. There was a fellow there who felt (to me) as though he really needed the Lord but was having trouble believing that He would be interested in him. I felt the Lord was telling me to get a piece of paper. Here's what flowed out of the pen in my hand...
Can you believe this? Is it so hard?
I have known you since before you wer made.
Come to me and I will hold you in my hands.
Let me carry you through the hard places.
I will never leave you.
August 20, 2008 - Early one Wednesday morning the Lord seemed to be telling me to get my journal. This is what I felt He was saying...
They are not made to do evil, listening to the desires of the world.
Men are made in my image.
I made men to love me, to seek me, to need me.
But they turn away.
They worship other things, worthless idols that have no power nor can they see or tell the future.
How shall I get their attention that they would return to me?
That they might leave the places where they gather together in evil and speak not of My name.
I will send unto them My Son who will take upon Himself their sins
and bring them a light that will never be put out.
But they did not receive Him.
They turned aside their faces, preferring instead to worship themselves.
And seek calamity for their reward.
July 27, 2008 - My wife was in Romania on a mission trip and I was visiting my friend's church for the Sunday evening service. Most of the way through the service I saw a vision.
What would be the results in our lives of a water main filled with 'living water' opened all the way? In John 4 Jesus tells the Samaritan woman that upon drinking His living water she would never thirst again.
Got a spare hand? Put it on that valve wheel and heave. Of course this isn't a physical valve wheel to
be turned by physical hands. Instead pray the wheel would turn and the valve opened.
June 13, 2008 - Friday night and the Lord seemed to be calling me to put pen to paper again.
The birds in the sky hear. The fish in the sea know my voice.
But the ears of men are closed against me!
How long before you will listen oh man?
When will you become wise? When will you stop playing the fool?
June 10, 2008 - I asked the Lord if he had words for me tonight.
That I Am God.
That I Am able to do what I say.
That I Am listening to your prayers.
That I Am caring about you.
That I Am filled with love and sadness for my children.
When you sin it hurts me. Are you not my children?
When you ignore me it hurts me.
When you commit adultery with other 'gods'
I Am angry.
But when you seek me I Am waiting for you.
When you call on my name I Am pleased
And I will not forget you who are mine.
June 6, 2008 - It was very late Friday night when I sat down with the journal.
It will cleanse your feet. It can make your skin clean.
But I am not interested in those whom are only skin clean
while inside evil and wickedness dwell.
Let the fire from Heaven burn away your sins.
Let it fall in your hearts and purify them.
Let it fall and refine you.
Siddle up to me and I will not see you.
Come! Seek me boldly and I will give the pure heart its desires.
June 2, 2008 - Monday nite and I asked if He was getting set to release His Power and Spirit? Is now the time?
A time will come when all hearts will have to decide - Are you jealous for me? Or not?
Woe be to those who are not! For I shall give them what they ask for and they know not what it will be.
But for those whom love Me my grace has no end and my mercy will abound forever.
They will drink and not thrist. They will eat and be satisfied.
They will lie down before me and I will sing to them and they will sing to me.
Over the hills and far away they will come from.
From all nations and all tribes.
And they will be joined together, a glorious multitude whose hearts beat as one.
They shall worship Me and I shall care for them,
cleanse them and clothe them in fine linen and make for them a new earth perfect in every way.
Look! When the trials end will they not be pure?
Look! When the smoke blows away will they not be clean in heart.
I have spoken.
May 11, 2008 - Sunday afternoon, words of caution for us all I think...
They shall be known from the deceptions they practice.
They will lead many astray.
They will command my Spirit in futility for their hearts are not inclined to me nor do they hear me
but they listen to their own desires.
May 8, 2008 - Thursday night, after worship band practice I asked the Lord if He had words for me. I was developing tendonitus in my left wrist and would need to soon resign from the worship band.
Radiant is the face of the one who loves.
Beneath the surface no storms bring trouble,
no turbulence threatens.
But he who loves the Lord will be as one planted on a foundation of solid rock.
They will not be shaken by the passing winds.
They will find peace in the midst of chaos.
Let there always be strenth in them and they shall not falter or stumble.
For I will be with them in all they do.
May 1, 2008 - Thursday at midnight - what seems like some very good advice.
Take care to not be like the world around you.
When you say there is no God you speak lies.
When you ride in the backseat and your driver takes you where you direct,
watch out to see you do not lose your place.
You think you are holy but you sin.
You say you are righteous but you are covered with sin.
You scrub to make youreself clean, but there is no soap in the world that can cleanse you.
You look in the mirror but do not see the ugliness.
You see not the warts and the sores on your face,
on your neck there are tumors.
Stop trying to make yourselves right.
Start listening to the one who can help, to the true God, to He who will make you whole and there is NO other.
What's the ickiest, most disgusting thing you can think of? For me that might well be lieing in a bathtub full of sewage with creepy crawlies running around on top of me...
The Lord is Holy. He is so Holy that our sins and iniquities are anathema to him. When we sin are we plunging Him into a tub of raw sewage? Or worse?
Yet he forgives us! We are simply unable to stop what we do. Sin is in our nature, we live, eat and breathe the stuff. He looked upon us and knew this and He sent his Son - Jesus Christ - to earth to make us clean in his eyes. Jesus paid for our sins on the cross 2000 years ago on the hill of Golgotha outside Jerusalem. He lived without sin, yet was accused by the religious leaders of his time of being in league with the devil and was unjustly condemned to die a horrible and shameful death - crucifixtion.
If the Romans had crucified you or I it would be easy. They would grab us, nail us to the cross then set it in the ground and there we'd be until we died. Easy. But certainly not pleasant. What would you do to escape from such a fate? How much pain can you tolerate?
Yet Jesus, who being God, could have come down from the cross whenever he pleased obeyed His Father and stayed there, enduring until the end. And His Father has raised Him to sit at His right hand in heaven and all authority has been given him. He gave His blood and suffering for you and I as payment for our sins.
The prophet Isaiah wrote about the Messiah and what would happen to him about 700 years before Jesus hung on the cross
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him. (Isa 53:4-6)
Scripture also says:
That we might become the righteousness of God in him. (2 Cor 5:21)
What is someone who has stolen something, even if it was only once and a little thing? A thief...
Is someone who has participated in sex a virgin any more even if it was just a little sex and just for a moment? No...
Even if we had only sinned once in our lives (not possible for a human) we would still be sinners in God's eyes. We can't make up for our sin by any amount of good works or kindness. He still sees our sins and knows us to be apart from Him.
If you want to be right with God you must do it His way. And His way is so easy yet so hard. We must avail ourselves of God's offer to pay for our sins with the blood Christ shed on His cross 2000 years when he died for us! There is simply no other way. Imagine the judge coming off the stand in a murder trial after convicting the prisoner and saying that he would die on the prisoner's behalf? Impossible! Yet that is what He did.
This is Good News for us. God says that whom will confess truthfully with their lips that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe in their hearts that He raised His son from the dead will be saved (Romans 10:9).
So now comes the question that so many dread. When Jesus asks you on the day of judgement, "Why should you be admitted to heaven?" what will you say?
Tell the Lord NOW before it's too late, "Jesus, I'm a sinner. I can do nothing about this myself. But you are the Lord who was raised from the grave by your Father. Please come into my life and cover me with your blood and mercy that I shall not perish but live with you forever. Amen"
If you prayed that or something like it and meant it from you heart God has sent his Holy Spirit to live within you. You've almost certainly heard of human rights? Well the only 'right' in the Bible is "to those who have received the Holy Spirit is given the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). This is a precious thing. Find a Bible believing church where your new faith can be nurtured. And become a Child of God. You will be amazed at what He will do for his Children.
