The Shay is a MDC kit upgraded with a few detail parts and the NWSL gear sets. The kit sat on a shelf for close to 3 years before I finally finished it off for the the Willamette Narrow Gauge meet (even though it's a standard gauge Shay). I stuck a couple of extra trees into the ground to spice the scenery for the photo (trees tend to get in the way when doing the demented dance of the switch engine).
