Photos I shot while riding the Sumpter Valley Railroad in 2013
On the return trip from the NMRA PNR Boise regional convention in 2013, my driving partner Doug wanted to pay a visit to the Sumpter Valley Railroad. He didn't have to twist my arm.
The Sumpter Valley is what's left of a 3' narrow gauge railroad constructed to serve a gold mining operation up in the hills. Mining supplies went up. Gold came back. Passengers went both ways.
