Bill is conductor on second 200 (the second section of train No.200). He brought along a guest and BC&SJ first timer
who is driving the train.
Two man crews are good when training new crewmen. Being thrown in sink-or-swim, on a new layout is intimidating enough, but unless the new guy is experienced with TT&TO operation, the rule book and employee timetable can completely overwhelm them. Bill the conductor handles the time table and train orders explaining to his engineer what's happening, then he tells the engineer go foward, stop, go backward, etc. as needed - a much friendlier way. |
