Redland has 45 cars spots and merits it's own switch crew. The Redland local switch crew is a popular job with the crews and is usually one of the first
jobs bid on. Jerry (nearest - switcher engineer) and Pete (Redland yardmaster) are at work pulling cars from the long team track to add to a block of
outbound cars they're building (lower right). This block will be added to the Deschutes Hauler East (extra 60) when it shows up in a little while.
The Redland crew hurrys to pull all the eastward outbound cars. If they miss the Deschutes Hauler, the outbound cars may miss connecting trains in South Jackson. |
