Bear Creek and South Jackson Operations - BC&SJ III Op Sessions - Aug 29, 2009 - 22
Paul M. (right) and Bob J. (white shirt) are crewing the Mill Bend Turn (MBT). This is one of the trickier assignments on the railroad. Mill Bend doesn't have as many car spots as Redland and there is a dedicated run around track off the siding but there's not much clearance on the east of of the run around, trailing and facing point spurs all over the place, and a steady parade of traffinc coming through for which they need to keep the mainline clear. Luckily there's only one industry, the bulk oil, off the mainline. That's the Polar Bear (reefer express) in town. RXE is ironically the hottest train on the railroad (the hottest train is ice reefers?) and the Superintendent of Nearly Everything is wondering why it appears to be stopped in Mill Bend when it should have received open track across the entire railroad? Oops...
