Bear Creek and South Jackson Operations - BC&SJ III Op Sessions - Jan 31, 2009 - 8
The conductor of train BCHE is copying the warrant that took them out of Salem. The train crews receive a train sheet (for their train) that tells them what their train is, what it does, its point of origination and its destination. It also includes blocking directions (for the order of cars in the train - yard set outs are at the head end of this train). For convienience the sheet also includes a pair of track warrants.

I wish I could say this was my idea but I borrowed it from Joe Fugate. I figured if it worked well for him at his Siskiyou Line op sessions then it would work ok for the Bear Creek - and it did.

You can also see the deck of car cards. The top car is the train card. It gives the engine ids (road name and number), class of the train, and DCC address (which isn't always the same as the engine # due to number 'collisions'). Under the train card are two engine cards which list the pulling capacity (in 'standard' cars) of each engine. For up hill trains this lets the crew (and yard master) know when a helper is going to be needed. The rest of the cards are for each of the cars in the train.
