Bear Creek and South Jackson Operations - BC&SJ III Op Sessions - Feb 9, 2008 - 16
While the meet plays out in Mill Bend the Redland local switcher is dancing with the Deschutes Hauler East in Redland. Tonight, the DSHE's motive power is too wimpy for the cars they'll get in Redland (on their way to Pocatello) and they'll get to double the hill. This turned out to be a bad situation all around because the double took a lot of time and completely tied up the tracks in Mill Bend preventing other trains from getting through. Alternatively, the YM at South Jackson might have been able to scrounge another engine set and sent them down to Redland to be helpers. An even better idea would have been to just have the DSHE leave cars behind in Redland for later pickup by RDT (the Redland Transfer) run (which has a much more robust set of power). You learn something with each op session!
