The parellel horizontal lines on the left
represent the inner and outer tracks on the helix. red LEDs show the progress of trains up and down the helix.
Crews that really want to see their train's progress can bend over and take a look. However bending over sucks and
the view is obstructed here and there by benchwork joists. Watching the LEDs is mucht easier. The sound of rolling
wheels or the growling of a loco's gears also give crews a clue as to whether their train is still moving.
