The citizens of South Jackson have long been tired of driving on plywood. That is changing now with the first paved area in town. Hillmovers Construction installed grade crossing timbers and pavement at the east end of town near Mack Milling and Deschutes Printing.

A nit-picker at the South Jackson Tavern was quickly shushed up when he dared declare "That there pavin' ain't real blacktop! Its only spackle so it's likely to wear out right quick."

Nobody seemed concerned by this, "After all", said another patron, "It's not like our vehicles are very heavy."

The recent burst of activity by Mike Angel and his sky painting crew didn't hurt hurt the good feeling in the area either. Rumor has it that the sky in South Jackson is about to become a whole lot more interesting soon.
