Jun 28, 2016 - Time for some zip texturing. If you don't already know, this process sprinkles plaster mixed with small amounts of dry tempra power on a wetted surface. The moisture leaches into the plaster and starts it setting, but because it's not mixed well the result has a surface the consistancy of gravel or small rocks. It's a very messy process, so we masked everything we didn't want to have plaster mess on it - backdrop, track, abutments, piers, etc.
