Apr 12, 2016 - The temporary, plywood, bridge piers had to go. I cut replacements from scraps of CVG (clear vertical grain) fir I had on hand rounging their corners and painted them with gray primer from a rattle can. After removing the abutments, they and the piers got a coat or two of Poly Scale Concrete. I used a pencil and straight edge to draw the outlines that would have been left by the boards used for the concrete casting forms and gave them to tain buddy Paul for final weathering. He used a series of diluted acryllic paints to give them character and finished up with rust streaks.
