Jeff Johnston came by the layout to shoot some photos for a DVD. While he was here, I tried some more focus panning. Out of about 25 attempts, this was the only one where I managed to get the loco in focus while the background was motion blurred. Actually though, perhaps motion blur and a Shay are sort of an oxymoron? Nothing about a Shay is fast (except the valve gear and crankshaft).
