I wanted a SOLID support system for the peninsula. The TJI joists rest on shims sitting on the bottom of the dado-cut in the 4x4 legs. The TJI is screwed (on the other side) to the leg to keep it from flopping around. Cable-ties anchor the shims. Solid wood from the bottom of the TJI to the floor but adjustable.
